Man accused of strangling and groping woman he followed off Ann Arbor bus charged

The 22-year-old Ann Arbor man accused of attacking a woman he followed off a bus was arraigned on four felonies at the 14A-1 District Court Saturday.

Louis Flanders was charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm, assault by strangulation, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and assault with intent to sexually penetrate.

Flanders is accused of strangling and groping a 21-year-old woman he followed off a bus around 11:10 p.m. Tuesday night near Washtenaw and Huron Parkway in Ann Arbor.

"This was a stranger attack," Assistant Washtenaw County Prosector J. Samuel Holtz said during the arraignment. "He followed her and attacked her."
