Former Dexter schools employee accused of embezzlement heads to circuit court

The former Dexter Community Schools IT director who is facing embezzlement charges is headed to Washtenaw County Circuit Court. Brian Scott Tungl, of Mount Morris, was charged in the spring in Washtenaw County District Court with embezzling $20,000 to $49,000, embezzling between $50,000 and $99,000 and unauthorized access of computers. All three charges are felonies. Judge Charles Pope bound him over to circuit court on July 17 after Tungl waived a preliminary examination in 14-B District Court. Tungl is scheduled for a pretrial conference on Aug. 24. The court also dismissed a charge of embezzling $100,000 or more.
